Membership at Clay Space
We recommend that customers interested in a Clay Space membership take a handbuilding or wheel class before becoming a member. This provides an opportunity to develop or refresh your skills, learn the flow of the studio, and get to know an instructor and some other members of our community before becoming a member. We want members to be able to work safely and independently in the studio.
If you have taken a ceramics class in a studio or educational institute within the last 1 1/2 – 2 years and have reached a certain level of experience and proficiency, you may apply for a Clay Space membership without taking a class in advance.
General membership includes access to the studio during all open business hours, a storage locker, and discounts on classes, workshops, and clay purchasing. Members are required to commit 2 hours of volunteer work every month. General members also get access to Clay Space social events.
Firing membership includes access to the glazing space and supplies during all open business hours, and a discount on workshops. Firing members mainly use their access to glaze and fire work that they complete off-site. Firing members are required to commit 1 hour of volunteer work every month.
10-Pack membership includes 10 hours per week of studio access and storage shelf space.
