Service Description

Do you want to add more texture and detail to your clay work? This workshop will explore a subtractive carving technique to achieve a three dimensional design. Over the past 20 years, Tabitha has developed her distinct carving method to portray realistic plant and nature patterns in clay. During this course you will learn how to layout a leaf pattern and practice carving on a test tile. Then we will transfer that drawing/technique to a mug or tumbler. Pieces will be provided to work on, or bring in your own leatherhard wares. This is a time consuming process so keep the size of your piece in mind. You should be able to hold it comfortably in your hand. A mug or small vase with a bulbous form in a smooth clay body would work well. Both wheel workers and hand builders are invited to join in on this workshop. **This workshop does not qualify for any coupon or discount code. Cancellation Policy

Clay space reserves the right to cancel any workshop or class for good cause, including but not limited to: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If a class or workshop is cancelled by Clay Space, we will refund payment. We offer full refunds for cancellations made more than 10 days out from a class or workshop and 50% refunds made between 5 and 10 days before a class or workshop. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of a class or workshop. All refunds are for the designated amount minus the services fee charged to us. To cancel your class or workshop reservation, please email us at office@clayspaceeugene.com to receive a refund. To cancel your open table, wheel, or glazing station reservation, go to my bookings under your user profile.
