Raku Workshop

Service Description

We are thrilled to extend a special invitation for an experimental Raku firing event at Clay Space. After the success of our December Raku event, we are excited to explore the possibility of regular, periodic firings starting this fall. This first firing will help us know whether regular firings are feasible and will be successful for our members. Event Details: ● Date: Thursday, May 5 ● Time: 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM ● Location: Clay Space Studio We will learn a lot from this firing, including timing for each round, capacity of the kiln, and timing of multiple processes. So that you can maximize the number of pieces fired, we suggest that each participant bring their prioritized pots and we will get through as many as we can. We suggest you bring 6-8 smallish pots. Please be aware of the experimental nature of this firing, especially if you plan to bring your most prized pots. Our goal is to work out any kinks and ensure future events run smoothly. We look forward to your participation and hope to make this a memorable and successful event. Raku firing Safety Procedures Wear cotton or wool clothing: - Jeans or heavy pants - Long sleeve cotton shirt over t-shirt (avoid plastic decals and silkscreeen) - Heavy shoes- preferably leather - Remove jewelry - Hair tied back if needed Bring: - Leather gloves - Surgical gloves - Handkerchief or mask if smoke sensitive **Discounts cannot be applied to this workshop.

Cancellation Policy

Clay space reserves the right to cancel any workshop or class for good cause, including but not limited to: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If a class or workshop is cancelled by Clay Space, we will refund payment. We offer full refunds for cancellations made more than 10 days out from a class or workshop and 50% refunds made between 5 and 10 days before a class or workshop. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of a class or workshop. All refunds are for the designated amount minus the services fee charged to us. To cancel your class or workshop reservation, please email us at office@clayspaceeugene.com to receive a refund. To cancel your open table, wheel, or glazing station reservation, go to my bookings under your user profile.
