All you need to do is bring your bisque (most buff stoneware works but cone 10 clay is preferred) and yourself, and everything else you need is provided, including wadding, glaze, and kiln sundries. During the tow hour info session, we'll look at a few pots and answer materials questions, along with distributing written info and answering questions.
On Friday we will share in the loading of the wood-soda FishCat Catenary Arch kiln. BYO dinner or go to town for a restaurant meal.
Early Saturday morning we will begin stoking wood and continue through shut down sometime on Sunday night, including the introduction of soda sometime on Sunday. During the day on Saturday, the spring angama firing will be unloaded, offering a glimpse into the 6 day firing of the largest kiln at East Creek (40 feet long and holding some 2,000 pots).
On Saturday night we'll enjoy a shared dinner of wood fired pizza. Dough and sauce are provided; bring your own cheese and toppings.
On Saturday May 31 at 11:00a, we'll unload the kiln and work together to clean up and grind shelves.
